Top 5 Tech Trends in the Next 10 Years

Shall we examine the technological development and see where the trend is headed?

In this article I will not show the most interesting, coolest inventions. I will list the most realistic, most applicable trend forecasts that analysts have made especially in field of IT.

What ideas are entrepreneurs after? What kind of projects are investors in? In which areas are new patents obtained the most?

These questions are important. Because according to some, technological progress will be made in the next 10 years as much as in the last 100 years.

1. Artificial Intelligence Applications and Robots

Artificial Intelligence has been the subject for which institutions have allocated the most investment budget in the last 4 years. It will continue to develop at the same pace. We will see the results of this not only theoretically but also in practice. For example, it will continue to merge with robots. The number of robots will also increase. In 2021 alone, more than half a million industrial robots started operating in factories. If we collect all the active robots in the world right now, it would be equal to the total population of Erbil and Sulaimani cities. In the coming years, only Tesla company plans to produce and sell hundreds of thousands of the new Optimus robots.

Although there are not many recent developments in the "Metaverse" world, which has suddenly entered our agenda with the effect of lockdown during the COVID period, the trends in Web3, which I find more important than that.

The transition to this new phase that promises decentralized internet, open standards and protocols, the investment amount in 2018 increased from $20 billion to $110 billion in 2021.

3. Space Technologies

The most important development trend in subjects such as rockets, satellites, and spacecraft that can land on other celestial bodies is the reduction of the costs of launching rockets into space. The work started by the nations' space agencies in the past century, and will be carried out predominantly by commercial companies over the next 10 years. Within the scope of space tourism, the projects of hotels that will open permanent branches in orbit have started.

4. Cloud and edge computing

This is one of the technologies that has come closest to the mainstream and become widespread in Silicon Valley. By cloud and edge computing, we mean the distribution of computing workloads across remote data centers and local nodes to increase data sovereignty, autonomy, resource productivity, latency, and security. While organizations are rapidly adapting to cloud technology to provide agility and cost advantage, they also fear that the cloud is more open to cyber-attacks and threats.

5. Quantum technologies

Quantum-based technologies can provide a very effective, exponential increase in computational performance for certain problems and make networks more secure. However, prospective users of quantum technologies must prepare themselves for uncertainty. Because before completely error-free computers and scalable networks can be created, certain technological challenges must be overcome.
